Kota Kinabalu is known as the capital city in Sabah, Malaysia. It is rich in entertainment, natural food and festivals. The city itself is vast and offers a lot of opportunities such as jobs, businesses and tourist attractions. The city is also a hotspot for foreigners who come to visit – particularly Chinese and Korean tourists – and now Westerners are becoming aware of Kota Kinabalu too.
Kota Kinabalu is known as a city of entertainment where numerous shopping malls are and built. Locals and people from afar would travel to these places, such as Suria Sabah, Center Point and the newly established mall named Imago. Out of the three, Suria Sabah and Imago are the popular ones, as multiple activities and events are held there in conjunction with many holidays and festivals as people from all over come to celebrate. Center Point became a, well, center for most sneaky and suspicious activities, so tourists were advised to stay away from that mall.
Along with all the entertainment, Kota Kinabalu is a place for foodies too. There are numerous hawker stalls and food marts available for snacking during the day and night, or even midnight. Most of them are affordable and come in large portions that are enough for a hearty meal. I would personally recommend heading over to the food stalls at Gaya Street for grand meals for a cheap price.
All and all, Kota Kinabalu is a wonderful place full of excitement and life as everyone from afar would visit here to try and settle down. Although the city is already great, it faces more improvements which will surely come one day.
